Purchase AP Exam Using Total Registration Note: If you are a new user, you will need to create an account. If you are a returning user, log-in using your existing account information. Total Registration will be open on September 29, 2025
Dear AP Students and Families:
The registration for AP exams for 2026 opens on Monday, September 29th. The last day to register will be Friday, October 31st.
As indicated on the Redwood AP Page (linked HERE) to register for exams, students will need to have created a College Board account (which they did when they enrolled in their class section(s) in AP classroom) before they purchase their exams. We use a separate platform for purchasing AP exams: Total Registration.
To complete the registration process, students must follow the prompts to create an account and answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page that is provided at the end. We strongly recommend that parents/guardians and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct AP Exams are purchased. Students should also have their AP ID number which the College Board issues to them when they set up their account.
Note: Students are not required to take AP exams even if they are enrolled in the course, although each of our courses is designed to prepare students to perform well on the exams which can earn them college credit depending upon the college they attend. Exams are expensive so we suggest students and their parents spend time discussing their goals and how each exam figures into their future plans. You may be interested to know that each year we have nearly 100 exams go unused.
Students with accommodations should file all paperwork by December 2025 in order to get their accommodations approved by the May 2026 AP exam dates. The final deadline to apply is January 16th, 2026. Please see the Exam Accommodations page for detailed information.
