26-27 Exam Registration

College Board Account : Each student enrolled in an AP course must have a College Board account.  This is the same account they use to register for the SAT (college entrance exams).  This account will also be the platform they use to access their course(s) during the school year and their exam(s) in May.

Purchase AP Exam Using Total Registration  Total Registration is the platform for students to purchase their AP exams.  They will also use their Total Registration account to find the location of their exam(s) in May.  Note: If you are a new user, you will need to create an account. If you are a returning user, log-in using your existing account information. Total Registration will be open on September 28th, 2026

Dear AP Students and Families:
The registration for AP exams for 2027 opens on Monday, September 28th. The last day to register will be Friday, October 30th.

As indicated on the Redwood AP Page, to register for exams, students will need to have created a College Board account (which they did when they enrolled in their class section(s) in AP classroom) before they purchase their exams.  We use a separate platform for purchasing AP exams: Total Registration.

To complete the registration process, students must follow the prompts to create an account and answer all of the required questions.  Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page that is provided at the end.  We strongly recommend that parents/guardians and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct AP Exams are purchased. Students should also have their AP ID number which the College Board issues to them when they set up their account.

Note: Students are not required to take AP exams even if they are enrolled in the course, although each of our courses is designed to prepare students to perform well on the exams which can earn them college credit depending upon the college they attend.  Exams are expensive so we suggest students and their parents spend time discussing their goals and how each exam figures into their future plans.  You may be interested to know that each year we have nearly 100 exams go unused.

Students with accommodations should file all paperwork by December 2026 in order to get their accommodations approved by the May 2027 AP exam dates. The final deadline to apply is January 15th, 2027. Please see the Exam Accommodations page for detailed information.
